How often should I get my dog groomed?

It depends on the breed, coat type, and lifestyle. On average, every 4–8 weeks is a good rule of thumb. Short-haired dogs may go longer, while long-haired or curly-coated breeds often need more frequent grooming.

What should I bring in with my dog to get groomed?

Please ensure your dog arrives on a secure leash. If your dog requires any special products, such as a medicated shampoo, or has specific grooming instructions, kindly bring those items!

How long does it take to groom my dog?

Grooming appointments usually take between 1-3 hours, but timing can vary depending on your dog’s size, coat, behavior, and the services requested. You’ll be given an estimated pick-up time when your dog is scheduled or when you drop-off for the appointment. For the safety of the pets in our care, we don’t allow parents in the spa area.

When should I bring my puppy in for its first groom?

It’s best to start grooming your puppy as early as possible so they can get comfortable with the process. We recommend bringing them in about two weeks after their final round of vaccinations. We won’t do a full haircut on their first visit, this time is more about helping them adjust to the sights, sounds, and smells of the grooming salon in a calm, gentle way. As your puppy grows and their adult coat comes in, we’ll recommend a grooming routine that fits their specific needs.

How much does a basic groom cost?

Grooming prices are usually based on a mix of factors, including your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, and behavior. Larger dogs or those with thick, curly, or long coats generally cost more, especially if they’re matted or extra dirty. The type of service matters as well. A full groom with a haircut, bath, nails, and ears will be more than just a bath or nail trim. Grooming prices also vary on how much time and effort each dog requires, especially if they’re anxious or hard to handle.

Are there additional fees for matting or difficult coats?

Yes, your groomer will want a consult before scheduling and a cost will be determined. Our goal is to maintain your pet’s coat in a way that supports both skin and coat health. If our experienced groomers determine that brushing would compromise your pet’s comfort or safety, we reserve the right to decline the service.

My dog is old, can it be groomed?

Absolutely! All dogs regardless of age benefit from being groomed. However aged, disabled, and ill pets required specialist treatment during the grooming process. We are experienced in working with deaf, blind, arthritic dogs, and those with diabetes. If in any doubts please consult your vet who will help you to decide whether there would be any adverse risk in grooming your
older dog.

How often does my dog need a nail trim?

We recommend getting your dog's nails trimmed every 3-4 weeks, but it can vary depending on their activity level and the surfaces they walk on. Dogs that spend time on hard surfaces may wear their nails down naturally, while smaller dogs or less active dogs may need trims more frequently.
