What do I need to do before my dog comes to stay at KAMP overnight?

Your dog must be registered with us! You can do so at https://kampdoglodge.portal.gingrapp.com. We also require a Meet & Greet with your dog (free) so we can make sure KAMP is a great fit for your pup.

When can I drop off and pick up my dog?

You’re welcome to check your pup in at KAMP anytime during our regular business hours. For overnight stays, we prefer that drop-offs be made before 11:00 AM when possible, to help your pup settle in and enjoy a full day of play.

For pick-up, please note that dogs picked up after 1:00 PM will incur a DayKAMP fee of $35.

What should I bring for my pup?

FOOD: Keep your pup’s KAMP experience just like home! Bring along their usual food, and let’s stick to their regular meals. If your pup’s on a raw diet, no problem—we just need clear instructions on what to serve and when. We’ve got this!

MEDICINE: Got a pup who needs meds? No worries, we’re ready to help! Bring any medication your dog needs, and we’ll take care of it during their stay. Just keep in mind our hours of operation. If your dog requires meds overnight, we recommend a vet or in-home sitter. We can also handle insulin shots if needed—just let us know! Is your pup a little nervous about being away from home? Feel free to bring calming aids like CBD or other sleep-friendly remedies to help them relax and enjoy their camp adventure.

KAMP COMFORTS: Make sure your pup feels at home in their kennel by bringing some of their favorite comfort items! Blankets, toys, long-lasting chew toys, and a bed in good shape will make their stay even more paws-itively cozy

Will my dog be stuck in a kennel all day?

Absolutely NOT.  Overnight KAMP includes DayKAMP. Which means your dog will have plenty of play time. If we feel that your dog needs some solo time we will give them kennel breaks throughout the day to rest. We have huge play areas indoor and outdoor so your pup will get plenty of exercise.

How will I keep tabs on my dog?

Stay connected with your pups through our live KAMP Cam (coming soon), get daily photo updates you can share, send text messages directly to our front desk anytime, and enjoy top-notch customer service that’s always here for you!

How do you handle emergencies?

In the event of an emergency, our team will contact you immediately and follow your instructions regarding your pet’s care. If the situation is urgent and time-sensitive, we reserve the right to transport your pet to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic to ensure their safety and well-being. Rest assured, you will be notified as soon as possible by our staff should such an event occur.

Do you take puppies and/or senior dogs?

We require dogs be at least 4 months old to come to KAMP. We also take senior dogs and are happy to administer meds and breaks as needed!

Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered? What if my dog is in heat?

KAMP welcomes dogs that are not spayed or neutered; however, it is the sole responsibility of the owner to inform KAMP Dog Lodge and Spa of their dog’s reproductive status before check-in. This information is necessary so that dogs can be grouped appropriately for the safety and well-being of all animals in our care. While we make every effort to separate dogs based on size, temperament, and reproductive status, KAMP Dog Lodge and Spa shall not be held liable for any unplanned mating, pregnancy, or resulting medical condition or expense that may occur while dogs are in our care. By signing this waiver, the owner agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless KAMP Dog Lodge and Spa, its employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or related to such incidents.

If your dog is in heat, however, we ask that you do not bring her to KAMP. If your unaltered female pet begins their heat cycle while in our care, you will be required to pick up your pet immediately.

What vaccines does my pup need prior to coming to KAMP?

To ensure the health and safety of all our guests, KAMP Dog Lodge requires the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough), DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus)

We also accept titers as proof of immunity for qualifying vaccines.

While these vaccinations are required, please note that no vaccine is 100% effective, and illness may still occur despite best prevention practices. For the wellbeing of all dogs in our care, your pet should not have been exposed to rabies, distemper, parvo, Bordetella, canine influenza, or other contagious illnesses within the past 30 days prior to coming to KAMP.

My pup wants to join dayKAMP! What do I need to do first?

If your dog is new to KAMP, the first step is to schedule a Meet & Greet. This initial assessment helps us ensure your dog is a great fit for our environment and allows us to place them in the most suitable playgroup for their personality and play style.

How are the dogs grouped?

Our dayKAMP dogs are grouped by personality, temperament, and lastly, size! We have separate play areas indoor and outdoor for each playgroup!

What are the check-in times for half day and full DayKAMP?

We do not have set check-in times for dayKAMP. However, if your pup is with us over 5 hours, we consider that a full day and you will be charged accordingly!

Are their packages available?

Yes! We have packages available with reduced pricing.

Will DayKAMP help my dog get comfortable with overnight boarding?

Absolutely! We highly recommend DayKAMP as a way for your pup to acclimate before an overnight stay. It gives them the chance to get familiar with our space, routines, and staff —so when it's time for boarding, they’re excited to come back. Plus, it helps ease that pawparent guilt, knowing they’re happy and comfortable at KAMP!

What does a typical day of DayKAMP look like for my dog?

A typical day of DayKAMP will consist of open play with their four legged friends! KAMPers will be split into playgroups based on size, age, temperament, and play style.

While in DayKAMP they’ll have access to our indoor and outdoor play yards, fresh water, and plenty of friends. Our trained staff will provide your KAMPer with lots of love and attention! Dogs will always have outdoor time for regular potty breaks. In case the weather dampens our day, the dogs will still be offered scheduled outside time supervised by staff.

You will receive a report card/update of how your dog is doing, as well as pictures of them enjoying DayKAMP with their friends. We can administer lunches or afternoon snacks to your dog throughout the day too!

FAQs: Grooming

Answers to the burning questions in your mind.

reservations
How often should I get my dog groomed?

It depends on the breed, coat type, and lifestyle. On average, every 4–8 weeks is a good rule of thumb. Short-haired dogs may go longer, while long-haired or curly-coated breeds often need more frequent grooming.

What should I bring in with my dog to get groomed?

Please ensure your dog arrives on a secure leash. If your dog requires any special products, such as a medicated shampoo, or has specific grooming instructions, kindly bring those items!

How long does it take to groom my dog?

Grooming appointments usually take between 1-3 hours, but timing can vary depending on your dog’s size, coat, behavior, and the services requested. You’ll be given an estimated pick-up time when your dog is scheduled or when you drop-off for the appointment. For the safety of the pets in our care, we don’t allow parents in the spa area.

When should I bring my puppy in for its first groom?

It’s best to start grooming your puppy as early as possible so they can get comfortable with the process. We recommend bringing them in about two weeks after their final round of vaccinations. We won’t do a full haircut on their first visit, this time is more about helping them adjust to the sights, sounds, and smells of the grooming salon in a calm, gentle way. As your puppy grows and their adult coat comes in, we’ll recommend a grooming routine that fits their specific needs.

How much does a basic groom cost?

Grooming prices are usually based on a mix of factors, including your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, and behavior. Larger dogs or those with thick, curly, or long coats generally cost more, especially if they’re matted or extra dirty. The type of service matters as well. A full groom with a haircut, bath, nails, and ears will be more than just a bath or nail trim. Grooming prices also vary on how much time and effort each dog requires, especially if they’re anxious or hard to handle.

Are there additional fees for matting or difficult coats?

Yes, your groomer will want a consult before scheduling and a cost will be determined. Our goal is to maintain your pet’s coat in a way that supports both skin and coat health. If our experienced groomers determine that brushing would compromise your pet’s comfort or safety, we reserve the right to decline the service.

My dog is old, can it be groomed?

Absolutely! All dogs regardless of age benefit from being groomed. However aged, disabled, and ill pets required specialist treatment during the grooming process. We are experienced in working with deaf, blind, arthritic dogs, and those with diabetes. If in any doubts please consult your vet who will help you to decide whether there would be any adverse risk in grooming your
older dog.

How often does my dog need a nail trim?

We recommend getting your dog's nails trimmed every 3-4 weeks, but it can vary depending on their activity level and the surfaces they walk on. Dogs that spend time on hard surfaces may wear their nails down naturally, while smaller dogs or less active dogs may need trims more frequently.
